IVORY COAST PRESENTER CONVICTED OF SUPPORTING RAPE ON LIVE TELEVISION
A journalist in Ivory Coast is behind bars for one year after being spotted demonstrating rape on live television.
The journalist has been jailed for 12 months after condoning rape in a live television. During an interview, the journalist was seen laughing after his interviewee who was once arrested for raping a girl, was demonstrating how he raped the girl and was sent to jail.
The incident happened earlier this week on Monday on a live TV. Mr. Waives Denbella, a journalist in a television called NCI in Abidjan was seen helping the rapist to lay down a doll which he will later use to demonstrate how he did his raping.
Little did this journalist knew his star is starting to dim and this was the beginning of his worst.
This brought tension online and also caught the attention of activists who later claimed the journalist was promoting rape. This made the boss of the television to fire the journalist to show that his station does not promote rape nor does it accepts such incidents.
Despite being jailed for 12 months, the journalist has also been fined shillings worth KES
There were several demonstrations on the streets of Abidjan including outside the television station to arrest the journalist. The guest who was also there has also been jailed for 2 years
