MISS EAST AFRICA 2021
Shania Umunyana was crown as miss east africa 2021 having surpassed the required criterias to win the crown.
Shania Umunyana will now be representing her motherland country as the miss east africa 2021. The event which occurred on Friday in a very colourful theme saw her emerge first.
Shanita was competing alongside 16 queen’s from different East African countries that is Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, Zambia, Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Eritrea among other countries.
Remember all the contestants spent almost a month at boot camp being trained on public speaking and cultural demonstrations and the smart one have already grabbed the crown from others.
Judges present were Jolly Mutesi who is former Rwanda Queen of runway, Miss Linda and Paul Siniga.
The judges chose the first six contestants from the ones who had matched infront of audience so that they could compete in the next stage.
“And Miss East Africa 2021 is from President Kagame’s country, Shanitah Umunyana.” the judge said. Speaking to Diamond Platnumz’s media station that is Wasafi tv, Mrs Shanita said that she is going to start her project right away.
The beauty walked away with a brand new Toyota new Nissan x trail car 2021 version worth $ 44,000 and will get a monthly pay of $ 1,500 which she will get within a period of 12 months.The first and second runners-up queens also pocketed $5,000 and $3, 000.
“This is a victory for my country, Rwanda, and all my fellow colleagues who were with me in this pangeant, I have a project of sensitising women to create innovative products and that’s what I am going to embark on now,”claimed Shanita.
Remember Umunyana had previously attended a competition back in 2018 where as luck would have it she managed to be the first runner up Miss Rwanda 2018.
In the year 2019 she was crowned Miss Supranational Rwanda. Shanita would then represent the country at Miss Supranational 2019 held in Poland.
In 2018 she had also represented Paul’s country at Miss University Africa. Here on these event she scooped The President’s Choice Award”, “Best Video Presentation Award” and “Best Social Work Award”.
First runners up was Queen Mugesi of Tanzania who defeated over 2,600 applicants of the beauty competition who applied to represent the country online.
“Tanzania will be represented by the beautiful Queen Mugesi who defeated more than 2,600 Tanzanian beauties who applied to represent the country through the online process,” said Jolly Mutesi who was one of the judges and former Rwanda Queen.
The beauty spoke before the start of the competition which was held in Milimani of Dar es Salaam on 24th December 2021.
Queen Mugesi started modeling at a very young age. Speaking in a past interview she said:
Modelling is something that I like ever since I was young I enjoy being in front of the camera I feel like me being a model it’s like me being myself I potray what’s inside me.
I started out as Miss Dar es salaam International School at my primary school (DIS) then I used to model at my secondary school Alpha High School.
When I was in form 2 at the age of 14yrs I decided to get into a Fashion Industry as a fashion model I did Commercials, Photoshoots for different concepts, fashion shows.
Like Swahili fashion weeks, Stara fashion week, hijab couture and so much more…
I received “Best female model 2015” at my modeling agency F&B Empire, I was also nominated in the category for best female model of the year 2017 for Swahili fashion week.
The second runners up of miss east africa 2021 was non other than coraliemurru of Mauritius.
