President William Samoei Ruto was born on December 21st, 1966. So how old is William Ruto? Quick math will likely put Ruto to be 66 years old. So William Samoei Ruto is aged 66 years old. Guess what? He was born in Nandi county in the rift valley region where he also started his education. He would end up at the University of Nairobi where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in botany and zoology in 1990.

Ruto a former choir member was picked by former plate president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi to become a youth leader a matter that led him into politics. Culminating his election as Eldoret north constituency member of parliament in 1997. President Moi would later appoint ruto to his party’s director of elections and later the minister in the home affairs ministry. it was at this point that ruto supported president Moi’s idea of fronting then minister of local government Uhuru Kenyatta as a successor in the 2002 general elections

However, in a grand coalition government with the Mwai Kibaki so Raila Odinga become prime minister with the ruto appointed agriculture minister in2010. he was transferred to the ministry of higher education before a disagreement with Odinga and corruption allegations saw him dropped from cabinet in 2011.

In 2013 with a new constitution now in force William Ruto teamed up with Uhuru Kenyatta to form the jubilee alliance with which they beat Raila Odinga in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, where he had served as deputy president. following the grand shake of 2018  Uhuru Kenyatta and William  Ruto drew apart and the president chose to publicly campaign for a new friend rather than the deputy president who had stood with him for over twenty years. today Uhuru is  looking forward to handing over power to his former deputy president and political companion of many after beating Odinga

The Kenyan politician first joined the political chamber in 2002 where he served as minister of Home Affairs under former late president Moi’s rule. He was in office from 2002 August to December. He would later join the ministry of. Agriculture for three years that is from 2008 to 2010.

William Ruto served as an education head that is in the ministry of education from April to October 2010. He led the people of Eldoret North constituency as a member of parliament from 1997 to 2013.

His first bid for the presidency was in 2006 when he announced to the public that he will vie for the presidency comes 2007. If you can remember this was the deadliest of all Kenya’s election history. It is here that hundreds of people were killed and thousands of them displaced. It’s the same year ruto disagreed with this kind of colleague and publicly declared his intention to run for the presidency in the 2007 general elections eventually losing the orange democratic movement by Raila Odinga. the two ended up on the losing side of president Kibaki’s reelection in 2007.

Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta would later be summoned by the International Criminal Court alongside other witnesses. The case was dismissed ahead of the next elections in 2013 where he supported outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta.

The two would serve another 5-year term and the relationship would break up in a bittersweet way. Opposition leader Raila Odinga joined the government under handshake and this prompted him to form his party which would then turn into the opposition.

Out of the blues, he campaigned and won the election despite it being challenged in court that it had opaqueness. William Samoei won the petition. He is blessed with 7 grown-up children all from a beautiful wife he has. Ruto’s inauguration will take place on 13th September 2022 at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi Kenya. Several leaders across Africa and the world has confirmed that they will attend his inauguration.
